Switching ISPs
I decided I have had enough of Metronet. They were fine at first, and I got their PayGo1000 plan. They have been bought out by someone else, however, and things have steadily degraded. Outages have been longer and more frequent. They have imposed traffic shaping after a frustratingly low usage ceiling. They have cut off my service after their billing error. And their routing seems to be messed up quite often such that simple sites such as CNN.com and Dabs.com are unreachable by ping from home, while I can ssh to work and successfully ping them from there. I have placed an order for Zen Broadband at 8mb. Hopefully it will be an improvement.
