Dead Soldier’s Mother Arrested At Bush Rally
Will someone explain to me when it became illegal in the United States to express displeasure with the sitting administration? CNN is reporting that the mother of a soldier killed in Iraq was arrested at a campaign speech by Laura Bush. The woman wanted to ask the First Lady "Why the senators, the legislators, the congressmen, why aren’t their children serving?" It is unconscionable, but legal and not terribly surprising for the other people at the rally to shout her down with chants of "Four More Years!" but what really bothers me is that the woman was arrested and charged with defiant trespass (whatever that means) even though she had a ticket.
