Squelching Bush Criticism

In Charleston, WV, a couple was arrested for wearing anti-Bush t-shirts to a campaign rally. Apparently, they were not making any noise at all and had simply marked out the word "Bush" on their shirts and wrote in marker on the back "Love America, Hate Bush." They were arrested for trespassing. The charges were later dropped when it turned out that the city had no jurisdiction to file trespassing charges for people in a state park. An apology was issued by the City Council. The city police stated that they were told to arrest the people by the Secret Service, but the Secret Service later denied any involvement.
